The Propeller.com recent layout change pissed off many of its members. Its bugs, non-user-friendliness, horrible outlook and not issuing user manual created great deal of fuss. People protested by "Proping" the stories complaining the issues. But then the AOL team replied with a big "thank you" and removed those article as a violation of their Terms of Services. Same was the case with my story which was submitted to propeller as this.
then
If the situation continues for a week or so, I am afraid that Propeller.com would become a desolate place. I had been a fan of the previous Propeller which had great members and less spammers but now it has disappointed me and many others.
I suggest that propeller crew should have the option of switching between the older version and the new version if not reverting it back.
Lets see whether the transition of Propeller 2.0 to Propeller 0.0 proves to be successful or a mess.

Not only its violating the sense of democracy but there are these coding errors like i had propped my article 3 or more times i guess. lolz
Go to the bottom of the page at propeller and click on the little tiny "feedback" link and tell them what you think!!
Well I must admit ... I'm here now for a while I check this page daily , I'm not discussing topics but i read and swallow news ... but the new change .. log in that didn't worked anymore , many friends that have disappeared , no visual pics of the friends ... all those small things that all off a sudden change again drastically ... It seems like they want to break down propeller ... I'm not sure If I will keep on coming back here ....
I have only been around propeller for a year and a half. I started participating on the old Netscape.com and stayed with propeller. But is new format is not very user friendly and it has more glitches than the old format. I have tried numerous times since Tuesday to post comments and NOTHING has posted. Most times when I have attempted, I got that ridiculous “500 message.” And when I didn’t get that and thought I had posted, my comment was “lost in the ether!” In fact, according to my profile page, I have NO RECENT ACTIVITY!
Why did these website designers throw the baby out with the bathwater?
I certainly hope the “brains” behind this change will take some constructive criticism. Please bring back the old propeller and make some subtle changes to THAT format (for example: I DO like the idea of groups of interest).
If propeller doesn’t revert back or to a more user-friendly format, I will go somewhere else. The freinds I’ve made on propeller will need to send me an e-mail at easterlyscott@aim.com or find me on another website yet to be determined.
This really is so sad and it did NOT have to be this way…..
No wonder I can stand AOL. It's almost like it's somebody's toy or something. I mean, the whole purpose of the websites is to attract people so it would make sense to listen what people has to say. And yes, I will wait for another week and if they will not change it back,I am gone.
As a webmaster, I can tell you that the new propeller has not bring many positive changes. For negative changes I can say:
- no backlinks (only indirect, through propeller.com)
- no TAGs power (all PR lost)
- design like shit
etc.
If the propeller will go in this direction, they will loose many of the SEO subscribers, and in the short time, maye we can talk about propeller as a HISTORY social media.
Millions of dollars can be lost by them in the near future.
I know many people who are searching some equivalent site like the propeller was once. Very hard to find, but maybe a new "child" will appears.
I'm very sory for dissapearing the old propeller but I'm waiting for another site with, at least all those positive abbilities.
It can be wrapped up in 2 words, IT SUCKS
I never commented online before Netscape and then Propeller. With the failed changes, I'm probably not in the future. I've complained and listed the problems I've had but it's clear, they don't care. So as long as they can sell ad space, nothing will change. I suspect when the activity drops to zero, they might address the problems. But I doubt it.
Where is everyone else going with the death or soon to be death of Propeller? BB64
During an election season most, including me, will have no time for this nonsense.
I am moving on to house of politics.com or another user friendly site. It's a shame, but it's even dumber to turn away an already established loyal customer base.
If this is not reverted to the old system by the weekend, I don't know
how I'd ever find out. My "friends" list has no use anymore..I'll be gone.
